Potassium Sulfate is a common fertilizer to provide potassium nutrient, as well as some sulfur. Potassium sulfate can be used over the cheaper potassium chloride because the chloride can be damaging for plants, especially sensitive ones. Potassium sulfate is good to avoid damaging crops. The only downside is that it is more expensive. For higher value crops like fruits and vegetables, potassium sulfate is the recommended potassium source.
